Can you cancel flights with Air Canada?

You can cancel your Air Canada flight within 24 hours after purchase. The airline will provide a full refund with no penalty charges.

For online bookings...

You may cancel your booking online if:

• You originally booked your flight on aircanada.com
• You are cancelling your entire booking
• You are cancelling your flight at least two hours before departure

In other cases…

You may not cancel your booking online if:

• You booked your flight through Air Canada Reservations or by another means - you'll need to cancel your flight via the same method it was booked
• You are looking to cancel an Aeroplan Reward Booking - please contact Aeroplan directly
• You need to make a particular cancellation - please call Air Canada Reservations

Refundability depends on your itinerary as well as your fare type. In the case of refundable tickets, a cancellation fee applies: $500.00 CAD

How can you cancel your Air Canada booking online?

Click on the Manage my Bookings tab at the top of any aircanada.com page and find your booking in one of two ways:

• Access a single Flight Booking by entering your booking reference, last name, and the number of the credit card used to make the booking (the number will be used for retrieval purposes only)
• Sign in to access all bookings in your account, then select the booking you wish to cancel

On your flight booking page, click on the "Cancel Booking" link and follow the easy instructions to cancel your booking.

Once the cancellation process is complete, a confirmation email will be sent to the email you provided at time of booking.

Note: If you're cancelling a booking for which an upgrade has been confirmed, you'll need to call Air Canada Reservations to request your refund.

Can you change your Air Canada flight?

• Sun Destinations: For flights to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America

Can you transfer your Air Canada flight to another person?

Yes, only for flights within Canada (this means that the origin and destination should both be in Canada). The airline will ask for a name change fee, to check the most up-to-date fees, please call Air Canada on the number below.
